Robin is one of the most famous heroes in the comic world and has played a part in several of the Batman comics. He has also made appearances in the Outsiders and Tim Drake comics. However, there is a lot more to the Robin character than meets the eye. This article looks at everything you need to know about this famous hero.
Tim Drake
The latest ongoing series to hit the shelves is Tim Drake: Robin, which picks up six months after the end of DC Pride: Tim Drake #1. The series is written by Meghan Fitzmartin and illustrated by Riley Rossmo. It also features variant covers by Jamey Campbell, Sweeney Boo, and Dan Mora.
Tim Drake has appeared in several DC video games, including Batman: Arkham, Batman: Rise of Sin Tzu, and Lego Batman 2: DC Superheros. He has also appeared in the Young Justice animated series and DC Universe Online. In the comics, he’s a detective with a romantic relationship with Wonder Girl.
As a side character, Tim is often ignored. In the newest issue of “Batman: Urban Legends”, he’s revealed to be bisexual.
Batman & Robin
One of the most iconic comic book duos of all time is Batman and Robin. This team protects Gotham City from criminals and colourful rogues while also demonstrating some of the more mundane aspects of being a superhero. The team has had several iterations throughout their history.
The earliest Batman & Robin comics were Detective Comics #38. These were written by Bill Finger. They delved into Bruce’s past by using flashbacks to his secret fight with his mother. During this time, Batman was undercover as a potential buyer looking for a new Robin.
This is where the modern day version of the Robin and Batman pair began. Often considered to be the best version, the mainstream comics were more relevant.
The Batman & Robin Annual #1 is a great example of this. It encapsulates a complete story in one issue.
Batman: Son of the Demon
Batman: Son of the Demon is a 1987 DC Comics original graphic novel. It was written by Mike W. Barr, and illustrated by Jerry Bingham. The book was released in both hardcover and softcover formats.
The story was initially considered non-canon, but was rediscovered by Grant Morrison, who wrote a comic called “Batman and Son”. In the comic, Batman and his son Damian (Scott Menville) take the fight to Ra’s al Ghul’s daughter, Talia.
Ra’s Al Ghul is an eco-terrorist who leads the League of Assassins. He is known for his strategic prowess and sense of order. However, he is also a murderer.
Ra’s is willing to work with Batman to take down Qayin, an assassin who has plans to start a nuclear war between Russia and the United States. They begin an attack on Ra’s base.
Robin & Outsiders
The Outsiders are a team of superheroes that came together in the early 80s. They were led by Batman and Robin. They later merged with the Justice League.
During the Crisis On Infinite Earths event, the team will work with the Titans. As a result, Batman will take the role of leader of the Titans. Likewise, the Outsiders will have to work with the Titans during the Crisis.
There are also some important developments with the DC Universe. This includes new threats and the return of old characters like Metamorpho and Superboy-Prime.
Although the Outsiders are a strong team, they’re at risk of being dated. Besides, their roster doesn’t include many memorable villains. Their focus is more on character interaction than the larger issues.
Other Robins
There have been several Robins in DC Comics. Usually associated with Batman, they are the sidekicks who keep the Dark Knight in check. Although these characters have gone through different iterations, there are still a few who stand out.
Tim Drake was the first to have his own ongoing comic book series. He wore the iconic red costume. As a detective, he proved his worth. However, he grew to dislike the role and left. Eventually, Stephanie Brown took over as Robin for a short stint.
Dick Grayson is a pre-Crisis Earth-2 character who has since made the transition into the world of international espionage. In his new series, he teams up with Roy Harper’s Arsenal.
Several of the other Robins are still active in the DC multiverse. They aren’t necessarily the most popular of the bunch, but they’ve all managed to find success in their own right.
