If you are a fan of Marvel’s Black Widow, then you have to know everything about her. Everything from her origin story to how she has developed her skills.
Natasha Romanoff
If you’ve read Marvel comics in the last few years, you’re probably familiar with Natasha Romanoff. She was introduced as a mysterious new assistant to Stark Industries in Iron Man 2, and later joined the Avengers. Her solo movie, Black Widow, is set to be released on July 9.
In the comics, Natasha was introduced as a Russian spy by the KGB. She was outfitted with high-tech weapons and a veil. When she was 10 years old, she lost her parents.
Eventually, the KGB discovered her talents and recruited her to join their secret espionage program. After training, Natasha was conditioned to forget her past. As a result, she became an assassin.
Although Natasha has been in the MCU for 11 years, her origin is still somewhat mysterious. In Black Widow, readers learn about her childhood and her life in the Red Room.
After leaving the Red Room, Natasha found her way to S.H.I.E.L.D., where she was brainwashed by HYDRA. She was then turned into a killer by the Black Widow Program.
While the comics depicted Natasha as a brainwashed espionage agent, her story in the MCU is very different. She’s a woman with a complex history and a deep empathy. It’s one of the few times she’s been retconned so extensively.
Antonia
A huge part of the MCU arc involves the villain Antonia Dreykov. She is the daughter of the former general and became his personal assassin. But Dreykov was not the only character who used her.
The Marvel MAX label, which started in 2001, was a sexy label that featured plenty of violence, sex, and violence. One of the three-part miniseries that starred Yelena Belova introduced her as a young trainee at the Red Room.
There are rumors that the character could appear in other comics and movies. This would certainly be a big deal. However, it also appears that the Taskmaster character is a bit of a cop-out.
In Black Widow, Olga Kurylenko plays the role of Antonia Dreykov. Previously she played the role of the Bond girl Camille Montes in Quantum of Solace.
She has appeared in Hitman, Paris, je t’aime, and Oblivion. She’s starring in the upcoming horror film, The Room. For the future of the MCU, Olga Kurylenko says that she wants to change the way the Taskmaster is portrayed.
It’s clear that Taskmaster has a complex relationship with the title hero. Although it’s the ole’ super soldier serum, it’s also a mercenary. And the fact that it can mimic the fighting styles of nearly any Avenger is just the tip of the iceberg.
Melina
If you’ve seen the Marvel Studios’ Black Widow film, you may have noticed Melina Vostokoff. The masked assassin is one of Natasha Romanoff’s former “colleagues” from the Soviet Black Widow program.
The Russian government agent, formerly known as Iron Maiden, is a super-spy. She was also a master martial artist. But she left the Soviet government and became a freelance mercenary. In the comics, she is part of the Red Room, a group of trained master assassins.
Melina’s story is complicated. She was an early character coming out of the Red Room. When her mentor Natasha left the program, she was left alone. It was only after Dreykov developed a brainwashing mechanism for the Black Widows that she returned.
The first time that Melina appeared in a Marvel comic, she was a hired assassin. She was hired by a businessman to complete a high standard of work. This was when her villainous persona was born. Eventually, Melina joined the Femizons, a female super-criminal army.
Later, Melina was captured by the Thunderbolts. Some Thunderbolts were shot, and some were blasted through the floor with an energy blaster. However, it was Melina who survived.
Although she’s one of Natasha’s former “colleagues”, Melina is a much stronger character than many people think. She is a master martial artist and a weapons expert.
